Lining up campgrounds isn't easy!!!

We're in the process of making reservations at the different campgrounds along our route.  Got to Yellowstone and looked for the phone number for the campground we always stay in - Fishing Bridge.  It's in the middle area of the park and easy access to the different loop roads.  It's the only campground in the park where there are full hookups.  Electricity and water are important!!!   Turns out the company running the campground now has decided to close it this year in order to upgrade the electrical system.  BUMMER!  We've always had the power go off there, but it usually came right back on.  Now I'm looking for a campground in West Yellowstone, MT as it is the closest area to where we head next.  Any suggestions?

Also found out that bears are FREQUENT visitors to one park.  Do I take it off the list?  LOL

See ya down the road!

The Layout of the Trip!

If you don't know, David and I have very different jobs on these RV trips: He drives and supplies the money, and I tell him where to go! This year's trip is the recreation of the 1920's National Park-to-Park Highway Tour sponsored by AAA. While they aren't sponsoring our trip, they have been of great help in routing around some of the more "challenging" roads: Wolf Creek Pass in Colorado and New Priest Grade Road outside Yosemite National Park.

Even before going to visit any of these sites, just driving to them all and back home is a trip of 6,000+ miles! Doesn't count sightseeing, eating out, shopping, etc.

The route is pretty much complete, but always subject to some change!

If you see a place where we'll pass near you, let me know and we'll see if we can arrange a visit.

This year, we've decided to recreate the 1920's AAA National Park-to-Park Highway Tour. We got the idea after seeing the DVD on PBS and reading the great book it was taken from. Still working on the route, but here are a few basic details:

A re-creation of the the 1920's National Park-to-Park Highway Tour. Begins in Rocky Mountain National Park and goes counter-clockwise 6,000 miles to take in many of the National Parks
